Darcy Pawlik
President & CEO
Darcy Pawlik is an agriculture, bioscience and innovation leader with more than two decades of experience connecting science, commercialization, policy and industry strategy across Canada and North America.
He brings a rare combination of technical depth, executive leadership and practical sector-building experience. Darcy holds a Master of Science in Applied Microbiology and Food Sciences, with a focus on plant and microbial molecular biology, and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Plant Sciences with a Biotechnology minor, both from the University of Saskatchewan. This scientific foundation has shaped a career focused on turning innovation into real-world value for agriculture and the bioeconomy.
Darcy previously held senior roles with Ag-West Bio, including Vice President. He supported technology commercialization, regulatory navigation, investment evaluation, strategic partnerships and major bioindustrial initiatives, while helping position the organization for renewed funding and long-term relevance.
He later spent several years with Syngenta in senior North American leadership roles across cereals, diverse field crops, seed, crop protection, regulatory affairs, industry relations and product management. His work included leading cross-functional teams, advancing hybrid wheat commercialization, managing partnerships and helping grow the North American cereals business into a leading market position.
More recently, Darcy has held executive roles in agtech, product commercialization, AI-enabled crop insurance tools, marketing, operations and consulting. As founder of Nucleus Consulting, he has supported organizations with strategic planning, go-to-market strategy, program development, executive leadership and sector engagement. He most recently served as Executive Director of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association, where he strengthened the organization’s national voice on competitiveness, regulatory modernization, innovation, trade reliability and farmer-focused policy.
Darcy is deeply engaged in Canadian agriculture leadership, including his roles with Agriculture in the Classroom Canada and Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers. Across his career, he has worked with farmers, entrepreneurs, researchers, governments, investors, industry associations and global companies to build alignment around complex challenges.
As CEO of Ag-West Bio, Darcy brings a clear vision for Saskatchewan’s bioeconomy: stronger commercialization pathways, better ecosystem coordination, modern regulation, deeper national partnerships and a sharper connection between science, companies, farmers and economic impact.
