Amy Carruthers

Program Development Manager

Amy’s passion for agriculture stems from being raised on a family farm in Northwest Saskatchewan, where she started her own ‘farm-to-table’ sheep business. Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Saskatchewan, with a specialty in irrigation development and technology adoption. During and after her undergraduate degree, Amy held roles in the crop protection industry and with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture.

At Ag-West Bio, Amy leads the Purposeful Connections strategy, working to curate educational programming for entrepreneurs, private industry, and researchers in agriculture and biosciences. Production agriculture has always been an important part of Amy’s life and she enjoys supporting innovators working on solutions that address challenges – from on farm solutions to bioproducts to value-added agriculture. An avid community builder at heart, Amy brings people together to discuss innovative ideas and learn from each other by sharing their lived experiences.

In her spare time, Amy can be found helping on the family farm, hiking, biking, or participating as a Board member of Sask Young Ag and Sask Girls United.
