Alejandra Toro
Manager of Program Development
Alejandra grew up in Bogotá, Colombia. She is about to receive a Master of Science from the University of Saskatchewan, having previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Microbiology from the Pontifical Javeriana University in Colombia. In 2021, Alejandra first visited Canada when she was honoured with a scholarship from the Emerging Leaders of the Americas Program, offered by Global Affairs Canada. She came to study at the U of S in 2022. Alejandra has worked as a quality control analyst in the pharmaceutical sector, as a research assistant, as a student coordinator, and as a research coach. In mid-2024, she joined Ag-West Bio as Program Development Manager and the Global Agrifood Advancement Partnership as scientific liaison. Alejandra is excited to apply science for the benefit of the community and to support entrepreneurs in the science sector, helping them thrive and create meaningful initiatives that provide value to the bioscience cluster in Saskatchewan and across Canada.
