Gel electrophoresis is a powerful technique used to manipulate DNA and as an analytical tool, such as in DNA fingerprinting. Build your own gel electrophoresis device from scratch with simple materials, and use electricity to separate colored dyes. Also learn how to extract DNA from a simple plant!
This is a FREE event for families (children under 6 years will need assistance)

Biotech & Beer Pub Crawl

We're going on a pub crawl!
Catch the bus at Innovation Place Saskatoon...(west doors of the Atrium)
Network while learning about one of the oldest biotechnologies!
First we visit 9 Mile Legacy, for samples, a tour, and a primer on microbrewing. Next stop will be Great Western Brewing Company, for more samples and a presentation by Brewmaster Amanda Butt. The final venue will bring us full-circle, back to Innovation Place for nachos and networking at Boffins Public House!
Don't miss the bus!!
