Ag-West Bio Inc and Innovation Place invite you to attend a luncheon seminar on “Plant Patents”.In the United States, plant-related inventions can be protected in one of three different ways:  plant patents, utility patents, and the Plant Variety Protection Act.  Both the U.S. and Canadian Supreme Courts have upheld Monsanto’s patents against farmers using glyphosate-resistant seeds, although on different legal grounds.  These and other issues relating to the protection and enforcement of plant-related patents will be the subject of an upcoming seminar by Antoinette M. Tease, P.L.L.C., a U.S. patent attorney who represents a number of Saskatchewan-based companies and individual inventors.
