Rick Green


Rick is the Vice President of Technology at POS Bio-Sciences in Saskatoon. Rick’s responsibilities include supervision of technical staff and oversight of Project Leader activity. Rick joined POS in 1989 and prior to moving onto the Senior Management Team in 2007, he was a Senior Scientist at POS. His technical background includes process development in the area of extraction and purification of specialty oils, protein concentrates, protein isolates and polyphenol compounds. In addition to his work at POS, Rick has held Food Scientist positions at Wardrop Engineering in Winnipeg, food product development centres in Manitoba and Ontario, and at Western Wax Works, a division of Alberta Honey Producers Co-operative in Spruce Grove, Alberta. 

Rick is a Board member of the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre, an Advisory Board member of the Saskatchewan Structural Sciences Centre at the University of Saskatchewan, and a Management Committee member of the Saskatchewan Section of the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology.  He holds a PhD in Food and Bioproduct Sciences from the University of Saskatchewan, and an M.Sc. and B.Sc. from the University of Manitoba.
