Chris Masich is a partner of McKercher LLP, one of Saskatchewan’s oldest and most established law firms. His legal practice is focused on business transactions advising clients on business development, business financing and mergers & acquisitions in Saskatchewan’s key economic sectors – energy, natural resources and agriculture. Additionally, Chris routinely provides special counsel on environmental regulation and environmental risk management across all industry sectors and serves on the Environmental Committee of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. Chris also maintains a general corporate/commercial law practice serving many diverse Saskatchewan businesses.
Chris regularly advises companies along the whole agri-business supply chain including farm operators, grain terminals, seed processors and ingredient and food manufacturers on all types of business transactions. In Saskatchewan’s energy sector, Chris routinely advises on several Saskatchewan conventional (non-renewable) and renewable energy projects, having assisted and currently assisting national and international independent power producers with: greenfield project prospecting and development, acquisitions of early stage renewable project development, SaskPower’s competitive and single-source procurements. Chris values innovation and, within McKercher, he co-chairs the firm’s Agri-Business and Entrepreneur Practice Groups and works closely with Saskatchewan entrepreneurs who are driving innovation across traditional economic sectors and the burgeoning tech sector.
