Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation

The Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF) funds the work of researchers, supports strategic efforts that grow the province's research enterprise, and promotes sharing knowledge borne of health research. Core funding programs include:
  • New Investigator Establishment Grants
  • New Investigator Establishment Equipment Grants
  • Postdoctoral Research Fellowships
  • Research Group Development Grants
  • Research Connections Grants
SHRF also works with partners to leverage more research funds for Saskatchewan. Partnership programs include:
  • Saskatchewan Research Chairs (partner differs with each Chair)
  • Sask-CIHR Regional Partnership Program (with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR))
  • Partnerships for Health System Improvement (with CIHR)
SHRF works as a catalyst, helping health researchers establish careers and build capacity in areas where our province has a pressing need or can play to a particular strength. This includes the health needs of Saskatchewan's Aboriginal people and seniors, innovative health care delivery models, mental health, infectious disease, and synchrotron-based health research.
