Canadian Light Source

The Canadian Light Source (CLS) is Canada's national synchrotron reseach facility, where intense beams of light are generated to probe the nature and structure of matter. The CLS makes synchrotron-based analytical techniques available to researchers from academic, industrial and government instiutions around the world in a wide variety of areas including: earth and environmental sciences, agricultural research, life sciences and health research, proteomics and macromolecular crystallography, chemical and materials sciences, natural resources and energy, nanotechnology, manufacturing, and information and communications technology. Access to the CLS can be obtained through a competitive peer-review process or purchased through the CLS Industrial Science group. The CLS mandate includes active industrial participation with innovative commercial research access, clear intellectual property policies and scientists dedicated to promoting industry involvement.
