Plant Bio-Industrial Oils Symposium & Workshop
March 15-16, 2005

New seed oils as industrial feedstocks will help Canada diversify our oilseed production to supply a growing and sustainable market for the manufacture of polymers, chemicals and oils, and replace our dependence on non-renewable resources.

At the recent Plant Bio-Industrial Oils Symposium and Workshop, hosted by Ag-West Bio on March 15 and 16 in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan , over 18 leading experts addressed recent research and business developments along with challenges to the industry.

I would like to thank Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Natural Resources Canada, our funding partners for this event. I would also like to acknowledge National Research Council’s Plant Biotechnology Institute for their participation and help arranging the symposium. Lastly, I would like to thank all of you for participating. Your expertise and insight is essential to the development of the industry!

Yours sincerely,
