Women play many roles in our community. Whether advancing a cause or supporting women, whether volunteer or paid, some women have characteristics and values that set them apart in the community. These women are leaders, mentors, facilitators, communicators, supporters, or listeners who have enriched our community and lives as a result of their unique contributions. You can nominate an amazing woman in your life in one of 10 categories – Arts, Culture and Heritage; Athletics; Community Building; Education; Entrepreneurship; Health and Wellness; Leadership and Management; Science, Technology or Research; Youth (under 25); Lifetime Achievement. More information on the categories is in the attached nomination package (also linked below). If someone comes to mind, please take a look at the package and talk to mutual friends or colleagues about putting together a nomination. There are so many deserving women in our community who are not in the limelight but whose stories are of being what I like to call being “quietly awesome.” I hope you will consider nominating someone in your circle. Nominations are now open for the 31st Annual YWCA of Saskatoon Women of Distinction Awards®. To nominate a woman in 2012 please download the nomination package Women of Distinction 2012 Nomination Package or you can contact the YWCA Saskatoon at 244-7034 ext. 132. Deadline is March 1st, 2012. Jen Pederson Nominations Co-Chair (with Avril Assie)
