Winter 2013

Ag-West Bio is looking forward to an exciting year in a prosperous, optimistic province.

The new Global Institute for Food Security announced by Premier Brad Wall in December has huge implications for our sector, putting agriculture and bioscience at the forefront of the provincial agenda. The announcement last week that Dr. Roger Beachy will be the Executive Director and CEO was met with enthusiasm at Ag-West Bio.

The staff at AWB was also pretty excited about Agrisoma Biosciences’s recent news. Agrisoma, an Ag-West Bio member company, supplied the feedstock for a 100% bio-jet test flight by the National Research Council. Last week, the test results were released: the fuel had lowered aerosol emissions by 50 per cent!
